HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL
Wish you success, luck and a prosperous year
in 2009

A Needlewomen's Agreement

I shall begin my first New Year posting with the Quartet Exchange, an idea by Barbara J , where Margaret W, June, BJ and I entered in March last year with a time frame of one year.

No doubt, BJ was the first to deliver, each of us received a beautiful stitched up box. I can never compete with that, the finishing was fabulous and the box was awesome. The hardest part was deciding what is to come from me.

I ponder and ponder! Believed me, it was not easy. I finally came up with these, and my choice of design for each individual piece, nothing as grand as BJ's and I hoped no one is disappointed to receive from me.
For June, something very French inspired, in Reds, the design is by Aunts Attic, stitched with DMC 115 variegated
For BJ, something very Black Bird inspired, only, this design is by Marlies Meyer
For Margaret W, something in her favourite color~ pink, a Gail Bussi design. I lost the picture of this and so shamefully needed Margaret to sent me a picture.

I hoped I am not wrong with the choices I've made for each of you.
Thank you so much Margaret, for the photo. ;P

Thank you for stopping by.

Just before Christmas

I am ending my post for year 2009 with this last exchange that came from Nela for my HoE Floss Tag exchange, which came yesterday.

I am amazed with the contents that came out from the box. Scent of lavender filled my living room and the scent became stronger as I opened the box. What a lovely time to received the lavender potpourri, I am putting it on my dressing table tonite. Nela had given me more than a floss tag. As always, Nela is a superb crafter and her finishing is always so fabulous .

Isn't all these gorgeous?? Nela had stitched a design by Victoria Sampler's sachet and incorporate the same design for my floss tag.
included is the rose pins, wished I could take a better pictures of all these.
The floss tag with metal charms that came with the lovely floss rings and yummy, yummy flosses.
Thank you so much, Nela, everything so beautiful and I loved it. Its really, really worth the wait.
* Gracias tanto Nela, todo así que hermoso y yo lo amó. Su realmente, realmente digno de la espera*

The last one out

Stitching, mailing and a surprise.......
EMS's Rose Sample, done Part 4 & 5 as of todate, going on Part 6 and I hope to complete Part 7 this weekend. Its MIL's Birthday this Sunday, so I will have to travel away again this weekend and this shall come with me.August Cake from Brooke's Publishing Book, the only thing that I improvised is the A into a 'D' .yep ! D is for Diane. I did not finish this on time for her Birthday :( surprisingly she did not make a fuss out of it..lol and I got it done on the 25th instead, 10 days after her birthday. I am looking forward to stitch the September cake . I intend to stitch the September cake next to this, no! not for me but for Vincent whose birthday also falls on September. Then, I will fame this up. What do you think? or should I do a separate one? so both of them could keep theirs later on. Will need to give that a thought. MAIL ARTS
Front & back
This round its Little House Needleworks theme that went to Ulla L in Finland. My choice is from the chart Music and Books. Its laid with batik fabric and I finished it off the edge of the flap with the same fabric. However, I forgot to attached a treble clef charm that should go in the middle just below the notes..'sigh'

The Violet Bouquet - by The Sweetheart Tree. Made into a needleroll for the Exchange at HoE. It made its way to Karen D, USA. Am so glad that it got to her safe and sound and guessed what?
It turned out to be her favourite color. News such as these always makes me happy :D

Good mail day!

What a wonderful way to welcome September! Received two wonderful packages from my exchange partners yesterday.

The first package came from Becky K who did not only stitched me this beautiful and delicate needleroll from SB design for HOE Needleroll exchange but also picked up a chart from my wishlist.
Summer Joy from Sister & Friends and Becky was so sweet to include flosses that the chart called for from her stash. I just can't wait to start on this!
The 2nd mail is an MA for the theme Little House Needlework at MA Friends, stitched by Ulla L. Ulla wrote that the design came from part of the Peach Tree Cottage and yes, she too sent me some lovely goodies including a chart from BC - Snapperville, Stockyard. Its such a cute design.

Thank you so much Becky and Ulla, big hugs from me to both of you, I absolutely loved the exchange items you both stitched for me and the goodies that came with it. This really made my September month very special ;)

I've got nothing from my stitching to show you yet, only took photos on the exchanges that came for reporting purposes, hopefully comes weekend, I'll be able to get some photos and blog about it by next week. Till then, I thank you all for stopping by and leaving me comments.
Have a good and lovely weekend everyone!

A roll, a pincushion and a tag

This is what become of the design by Mary Beale's - Pocket Needlebook #2 Crochet and Cross stitch combo . Design is part of EMS Rose Sampler with very minor design change so to fit the surface of the basket.
I first crochet a basket, stitched up the design filled it up and tuck it into the basket and made into a pincushion which is for Margaret W's birthday today. We had a very very short meet on Wednesday which gives me the opportunity to hand delivered to her. Its nice to visit her again, wished I could have stayed longer and dig into her newly acquired stash brought home to her from Australia, London and Singapore recently, LOL!
Another floss tag, the design also came from the Rose Sampler. This is for Jackie, Margaret's sister.

Thank you everyone for coming by and leaving me your comments. Appreciate your visits.
I'm attending a potluck at Diane's music school tomorrow.

I wish you all a wonderful weekend !

Mail Day and Christmas

Something bulky came in the mail on Saturday the 8th. It caught me by surprise as I did not expect this to arrive so soon when the exchange closing date was only on the 7th. Its my needleroll exchange from the EMS board and my partner is from Singapore, Jeanie Chow. Now that explains the early arrival. Pretty in pinks is what she made for me but just can't recalled the designer . I know I've seen it before :( Sorry Jeanie. Yes, I do loved it and its done beautifully. Thank you for such a pretty needleroll, Jeanie. No worries.

A Christmas Star is the last from 'the something' I did on the sewing machine and this is one of the 2 Christmas theme fabrics that I'v got in my stash.
Another finish from the PS Cranberry Christmas series. This time its white (DMC 729 actually)
on red and with metallic green. Almost gave up working with the metallics! I hoped my added finishing deco makes it a little more christmassy.
Another stuffed pillow? shall I called it a 'pillow' made in the shape of a pine tree. A first trial and idea copied from the JSC ornament issue...forgot the year as I was putting tis up!!!
My idea of summer for the summer sampler MA. This is another piece from the 'something I did' a while back..finishing with the sewing machine and made into a stitcher's purse.I completed the front with a sunflower button and a felt flip flop, I've made from red felt and sew in the beads for the straps. Design by Erica Michaels flew to my partner, Tuula in The Netherlands with an underwater scene postage to go with the theme .The back is left simple and nothing fancy. I have the country name stitched and 3 little yatch. The backing fabric, something bright and cheery to go with the summer theme.
It took more than 2 weeks to travel from here to Netherlands...20 days to be exact. You bet I was getting anxious by the day.

Thank you Tuula for loving my MA and thank you for stopping and leaving me your comments. Appreciate it very much :D

Thank you for your visits everyone, I hoped the rest of the week a good one and a great weekend,.BJ, Janet and Dawn, thank you for your time to leave me your comments. More time is what I want and since am not getting any extras,
gotta start early to make up for it ;)

Petit abc aux oiseaux

Only part of the design by the way and made its way to USA.7" x 2" maximum or 5" x 1.5" minimum was the size stated in the exchange. However, mine is slightly longer after adding the lace at both ends. This is what I came up with using part of the design from 'Petit ABC aux oiseaux', a design by Tournicoton stitched on 28ct cream evenweave.

Hopefully Kim is happy to receive from me.

......and It's September !

Yeah ! Its September ! My son who is 16 and I shares the same Birthday month. It's an extra special month for me coz my participation in a Birthday Exchange with MYS means that I will be getting a couple of extra pressie and stash ! oh yes ! more stash. Its also the month DH and I will go on a weekend trip . In a couple of weeks, we are heading to Southern Thailand.

MY SECOND NEEDLEROLL

This is my second roll. Made this on a Sunday and completed it on Monday.
The first needleroll I made for an international exchange group was slightly too long. With this 2nd roll I wanted to experiment with a couple of stitches and uses
beads. Its been ages since I last use beads on my crossstitch and am eager to find out if I could still do it.

It turned out to be a sampler type design. Its not for me to keep, its going to a
friend in an exchange.

ANOTHER SCISSOR FOB

Can't recall when I have stitched this piece. All I remembered was
that I
stitched this piece from ramnants of one of my project and had
left it in my sewing box. Everytime I open the box I would find it
there. So, this morning, I made it into a scissor fob.

Am glad that I did.
