The motifs crocheted tunic for Diane in Lilac is finally done

and fitted. Just hope one day she will wear it and I'll remember to take photo. 

For now, she ain't gonna model it for me. 

Our WSG Birthday Exchange meet is this weekend.

It's finally happening!!

My exchange are all done and packed. 

The shops are now filled with all things Christmas

and my boxes look Christmassy too as I wanted the same box design

Sorry the pictures here are a little dull as we  have entered the Monsoon season, which means higher rainfall and gloomy days and shorter sunny day light. As I am writing this now, it's raining very heavily outside and it's kinda chilly inside.

New Year's Day at Banker's Club 

A first weekend in 2015 with a trip down historical Malacca

The Clock Tower in front of  The Stadhuys (right) was build by the Dutch in 1650 once upon a time served as the Dutch administrative office now the Malacca Museum. The Christ Church on the right behind the Clock Tower took 12 years to complete

A'Famosa, the most famous historical landmark in Malacca is a Fortress built by the Portuguese in 1511. This is all that's left today

Jonker Street aka Chinatown was once renowned for all things nyonya especially the beaded shoes and antiques. It was homes to the nyonya and babas dating back to the 17century mostly the upper class Strait born Chinese.

 Today the street become one of the attractions for tourist looking for Baba & Nyonya traditional food, souvenir and antique. 

Most of the buildings was built during the Dutch era are now turned into shops and cafes

below a shop selling red paper cutting or symbolic icon cut out from red paper , what you see on the wall are samples of the cuttings from the red paper

Diane found something charming that is neither Malay or Nyonya

The famous One bite Durian Puff  that guarantees the durian custard pops in the mouth.

*This is the fruit :Durian if you do not know what it is. It has a heavily distinctive pungent odor, stinky to some while other says smells burnt ash but to those who love durians, it's havenly

Otak-Otak, a local and one of the well-known delicacy

A chinese temple is one of the few around near Jonker Street

By night  Jonker street is turned into a night street market with vendors offering local treats, antique, trinkets and cheap knock-offs.

The colourfull and fanciful decked trishaws with neon lights...just like Christmas tree

Taming Sari Revolving Tower provides a 360 degree panoramic view of Malacca town stood at a height of 110 meter opens to the public in April 2008.

The river walk and river cruise

A model Malay Village - Kampung Morten is named after Joseph Frederick Morten, the then Commissioner of Land existed since 1920s is a heritage and traditional culture of the Malays here.

Coming into Malacca is also about food, Nyonya food and it's ice shaved dessert, Cendol

There's more from the remnants of the Dutch occupation including St.John's Fort, St Peter's church  and the Dutch Graveyard  but here is where I'll end for now. Hope you enjoy the journey.
