The 12th Teacup Reveal

Once again, I participated the 12th Teacup and Mug exchange hosted by Stephanie of The Enchanting Rose blog.  What a joy to have Margie's name as the person receiving the teacup from me  I have been following Margie blog for sometime enjoying and at times in awe with her tea theme blogging and can you imagine how hard it is to hold back my excitement so I can sort of surprise her?

I had a hard time deciding my choice of a teacup for Margie knowing that she has a vast collection . I finally sent her this chinoiserie design teacup and saucer from my collection. It contains hints of her favorite colors.

Here are the things that goes into my package for Margie

 A teapot card  that went along in the package. I mailed this on the morning of 17 April 2018.

Thereafter the anxiety of waiting for news of it's arrival 

 It is always a great relieve to finally received words that the package arrived

especially great to know the teacup and saucer arrived in one piece

My teacup packaged arrived just two days before the reveal date from Joy in US

It was a wait worth waiting for.Joy had sent  me this beauty, a musical theme teacup and saucer, I would say one of it's kind that she found in an antique store. This is simply too precious.

I am sorry I didn't write to thank you as you have not include your email in your note. Nevertheless, I want you to know that your package is greatly appreciated and love.
Thank you for going into extra mile to sent me the Cross stitch hoop kit.

The 12th Mug Exchange

Revealing the Mug I received from the 12th Mug Exchange hosted by Stephanie of the Enchanting Rose Blog. I am finally finishing up this post that I have been sitting for sometime since this was the first to arrive like two weeks back.

 My Mug Exchange came from Daniella post marked Canada.

She sent me this lovely turquoise mug and the yummilicious Bernat pop yarn

I must confessed that  the kids and me had already munch and munch finished
by the time I posted this 

Daniella is quite an artist too, just look at this art work painted by Daniella. It's a scenery of the amazing Northern Lights, I like to think this is either where she is from or near her home. It must be amazing to be able to see the northern lights so often while I can only hope to see one day. Thank you Daniella for your thoughtfulness in sending me this painting of yours. I will always treasure this artwork.

I can't thank you enough Daniella, you have put in a beautiful package and I love the smell of both the coffee and the tea.

For my Mug partner, Ivana in Czech Republic who has no blog, my choice  mug for her is this Blue and White porcelain Mug with a Chinese landscape motif with a lid. I spotted this mug at a Home Fair of a mall near my work place and was drawn to it immediately . The mug with the landscape seem to have a story to tell.

Ivana wrote that she drinks coffee but I also sent her some local tea flavours from my country and

my "No Binding Coaster" . I also tucked in a Pink Diamante Bunny ears hairband for her little girl. Hope baby girl likes Pink thou and 2 balls of crochet Milk yarns since Ivana is also into crochet.

Two froggy bag clipers and a small bottle of Rose Buds 

are among the things that goes into my package 

Another Teapot card that went with the  package . I have received words from Ivana that the package arrived, I just hope the mug survived the journey too.

12th Teacup & Mug Exchange

Thank you Stephanie for hosting another round of  this wonderful exchange. So everyone, do hop over to Stephanie's blog for the reveal day and see the prettiest photos and lovely treasures from the exchange.

It is sad to note that this could be the last exchange hosted by Stephanie. I am so glad that I have participated from the last 4 exchanges.. It was a great joy sending parcel sometimes to  places I am not too sure where it is and had to look it up in google search, LOL. The excitement and joy mailing  from a  total stranger to a total stranger and receiving one in return from another stranger .That's the wonderous beauty what Stephanie had done.  No doubt it comes with anxiety from the time the parcel is mailed until words are received that the items arrived safely and that it has not been squashed. Thus, I understand how Stephanie could have gone through with every exchanges that she hosted. Can you imagine this round we had 250 participants ?

Teacup is finally here

Happy New Year !

How time flies, a week of the New Year has gone by and here we are at Week Two already, before the first week ended a little excitement came my way.

Roxanne's parcel arrived on Saturday from Stephanie's 11th Teacup Exchange. I was so excited to see a parcel on my coffee table when I got home that afternoon. 

This pretty teacup arrived in one piece despite the box got squashed all over thanks to Roxanne giving both the teacup and saucer a very, very good and thoughtful wrapping to survive the three months journey

It was a perfect package put together, thank you Roxanne for this wonderful package.

I can't wait to try out  the Rooibos tea.

A  begger's meal on New Year's Eve 

It's not a pretty sight just by looking at this pile of dirt like bags on a wheel barrow. It's a pauper's meal but definitely not a beggar's budget. This is another College girls' trip with the guys tagging along. 

Beggar's Chicken is a dish of chicken stuffed and wrapped in clay and slowly baked or fire kiln that takes eight  hours to prepare in a single serving. Originally originated from China in Hangzhou, with a  history to derive its given name of course, but I won't go into the story of it.  This is not a dish you can simply walked into the restaurant and point your finger on the menu,  one need to pre-order like days in advanced. Coming from where I am from it took me about an hour's journey to the eatery. And mind you, they do call  you to give you a piece of their mind if you are late, LOL

I shall called this the beggar's den where the charcoal ash-filled kiln are to slow cook

Unwrapping by cracking the outer mud layer and a few layers of brown papers is like unwrapping a gift  to reveal the last foil encasing the chicken

The Chicken  is pretty decent in flavours

The restaurant served other dishes as well but this is their signature dish.

While in the vicinity of  Beggat's Chicken in Bukit (Hill) Jugra, an old historical town that exudes and old world charm, we went up to top of the hill. Jugra Hill with its undulating terrain and scenic views make an excellent spot for paragliding 

Jugra Hill rises abruptly 146 meters from the surrounding plain and offers a splendid view of the Langat River, the Selangor coast and the Straits of Malacca beyond. 

The Lighthouse that guide no ships

Jugra Lighthouse, before it was built the shifting currents of the area would frequently lure passing vessels to become wrecked on its shores.  The lighthouse (on the right) was built during the colonial era (the tower on the left was built in 1976).

It's no longer used today but only function as another historical past

Craft wise, I am still working hard on my Secret Birthday exchange. Now we have a date to meet and I must hurry.

The 11th Teacup and Mug exchange hosted by Stephanie took off  in October. Thank you Stephanie for hosting this wonderful exchange and the joy you have brought to all participants alike. Like before, precaution and care is always given to the teacup or the mug, afterall, it's travelling across the continents. I was like three days late with my mailing out, petty issues which I would like to sweep under the carpet since all is well and both parcels arrived its destination safely.  Let's have  a cuppa instead and enjoy this unique moment of delightfulness with all ladies from around the globe

Jo's package was the first to arrive and pretty quick too. When the Post truck pulled beside my car as I was getting out of my car  that evening , it didn't occurred to me that they were actually delivering my package. A wonderful surprise when I didn't expected it to arrive so quickly. Jo packed and wrapped everything individually so beautifully in fushia and lilac.

The TEACUP

My choice of teacup for Lyn in Australia, I made her a teapot card which was part of my paper crafting in October

I noted Lyn only drank teas and although I gave her a varieties of tea, I have included our locally produce tea "Boh"from Cameron Highland Boh Plantation.  I always like to include something locally produce  in my package so my partner get a little taste of something from my country.

This made up my entire package for Lyn which

include some sewing notions since she is into sewing

THE MUG

This is my second round of signing two exchanges

For Rosalyn in England this went. I am so thrilled to read that Rosalyn had listed Owls as one of her interests and I  had this cute owl mug in my collection which is,

and hopefully perfect for a teenage girl.

I made her a Cup design card to go with my package which also contained some things of her interest

I sent her  a letter set, 3D flowers for card-making,  manicure scissor
tea filter, chocolates and Cream O biscuits, a box of Boh tea plus a varieties of tea. 
She too drinks tea 

As of today, I have yet to receive my teacup package which is coming in from South Africa. Sweet of Roxanne to have emailed me about her worries that her package might take up to four months to reach me as she was told. Shocking indeed. I have never experienced such long mailing time before. However, I am keeping my eye on the postman and hopefully it will not take up to four months. In the meanwhile until my package arrives do head over to Stephanie's blog for some teatime tate'-a-tate'

Let's have a cuppa, it's reveal day

Tea or Coffee ?

This is only my second teacup or mug exchange, it's such a fun exchange that  I've signed for both teacup and mug swap this round. I am especially thrilled to know that both my packages arrived SAFELY, safely as in both mug and teacup arrived safely in one piece.

Case of once broken twice shy and I have  much to learnt in putting up a tea swap package.

Can you imagine my anxiety while both packages are flying across the continents ?

Teacup Exchange

I received my teacup from Eva who lives in Spain. She gave me such a beautiful package.  I unpacked my teacup to reveal a lovely blue teacup with a post mark design.

And  the wonderful goodies that came with the package from Eva.

SENT

This is the teacup I sent to Tiina in Estonia. I was told she doesn't have a blog.

I found her favorite color of blue in a teacup and saucer by Claytan. Claytan is my country's major producer of fine china tableware

 

I have also added a wooded cat that holds a sandalwood soap from my Bali trip and a tea filter in a house shape. For Tiina I 've choosen her a Ceylon Green Tea by Dilmah

Mug Exchange
RECEIVED
Wren had my name for the mug exchange and the parcel was postmarked address Bangkok, Thailand. Coming from a country I am not alien with, I was expecting to see  Thai things and wondered what Thai tea or coffee it might contained.  
Imagined my surprised. 
Wren sent me an awesome package of a fabulous MUG with an Australian aborigine design. Shall I say your home country Wren ?

These are the delightful goodies from Wren. I have since tasted the delicious sachet of coco.
The only thing that is Thai in the parcel  is the RED Taxi (tut-tut) pin

My mug goes to Montse in Spain

She doesn't have a blog either and her info reads that her fav colors is green and she collect bookmarks. I so happened to stumble upon this mug of gold and green boarder design with a white embossing detail at a mall when I received her name for the swap from Stephanie and took no second thoughts to purchase it.

In her package I included a Bamboo tea coaster, a house shape tea filter , a box of Chamomile & Lemongrass tea by Ahmad Tea plus a crocheted bookmark in green for her collection.

It's reveal day !

Tea Cup Exchange sounds like fun especially more if you collect teacups and teapots. So naturally when I spotted the calling for the exchange, I just couldn't give it a miss. After all, it sounded easy, just sent a tea cup complete with saucer until you wonder how on earth to pack a teacup to ensure it's safe delivery ? Being my first teacup exchange I didn't know what to expect and was rather surprised when my teacup packaged arrived when I least expected it.

Now that is JOY!  

TEACUP that came : All the way from New Zealand, I received this lovely snow white porcelain teacup with delicate embossing details from Kimberley

Take a look at what Kimberley sent along with her teacup besides  a very aromatic New Zealand Breakfast Tea and a special edition of Choco-ade Biscuit where Kimberley wrote only recently made a comeback, so grateful that Kimberley thought of me, now I get to taste the yummy biscuit. I also received a lovely tea towel with peach flowers and a knitted dish cloth knitted by Kimberley  in sweet pink.

TEACUP that went :For my tea cup partner, Bonnie in NZ , I sent her this sweet rose tea cup that came with a matching box. Can you imagined I tucked everything inside that box with the teacup inside? I hoped by filling up the box, it would protect the teacup on it's journey I simply refused to substitute that box which came with the teacup for a plain postal box.

I choose to sent Bonnie a packet of our local SABAH tea, where its' sprawling tea plantation is surrounded by pristine rainforests in the cool mountain air in Sabah, Borneo, anywhere else will be too humid to grow teas except for Cameron Highlands, our other tea plantations haven  and  two varieties of our local coffee flavors . I would have packed more if only the box would allowed.

While hunting for the teacup, I spotted a Japanese hand-drawn lacquer tea tray

(it's like any other serving tray enough for a cup of tea or coffee and probably a slice of cake),

Japanese craftsman are known for their painstaking craftsmanship and a lacquer work is known to be one of the most complex of all Japan's traditional skills.  A  teaspoon with pink polka dots handle and some candy colored fancy fruits picks went along.  It was a joy to go hunting for Bonnie 's package.

edited : Sadly to note that the saucer for Bonnie got crushed and shattered  while the teacup is intact. Sweet Bonnie wrote nothing of the crushed saucer in her thank you note but I am truly disappointed and  sadden since it's my first exchange of such.
