City of Eternal Spring, the journey

Friends wonder why I have yet to update my blog on my trip? Lazy was the word, LOL. My first  thought of Kunming was 'kampung~ish'(village), surprisingly its a city with departmental stores and branded shops lined its streets. There's even Parkson, Watson and Wal-mart. I hope what I've selected here will not bored anyone visiting ;P Our journey begins at KLIA, departing ~ the airport never sleeps, we arrived at the crack of dawn....Baggage check in at 7:15am

Lunch on board our National Carrier, M A S or was it a late breakfast.... After I missed the 'Great Walls', spectacular view of lakes came to sight

Rice in a wooded pot, reminds me of our 'Nasi Lemak' not an everyday dish, meat and 'man tou'Soup is a must in KunmingAnother modern architecture, 'Siow Tai' mentioned briefly that Kunming has French influence, and that 'cafe' was not able made popular cause the people of Kunming didn't like the taste of it....and there's not a single 'kopitiam', Coffee Bean, Starbuck or coffee house in sight...anywhere.......
On the grounds of the restaurant, a Jade - stone, raw jade exhibition is ongoing After lunch, our first destination is the Grand View Pavilion , we had to walk...no made to walk this road uphill and later downhill on our return to reach here

The main entranceinto here, an ancient placeto this temple with a historical significantthe temple inside , the pillars and structure are made of pure copper which had turned black over timeTortoise with a dragon head and scale bodied an ancient weapon..there's two of it, about 10' long, the warrior who uses it gotta be very tall, if it was ever used, oh! they could have rode on horses...that was for not listening to 'Siow Tai's' story telling.....Ancient Chinese buildings always has a courtyard, this enters oneA Chinese gazebo built over a lily pond, as we made our way out, there 's a row of small stalls set outside, one selling children's ethnic clothing
and something not so ethnic and below the room at Hotel Horizon, a Five-star status The bathroom........I was so thrilledto find this inside the bathroom.....
an awareness, with that it makes keeping tap of the......err...easier....

and believed me, I stepped on it every morning before I leave the room, just to ensure I don't go splurging on every meal.
