is what we had when my office closed for a couple of days for the Hari Raya AdilFitri festival and I packed my bags and headed up North and crossed the border into Thailand. My destination, Hatyai, a town in the south of Thailand, a journey that takes about 8 hours on the bus and my journey starts at 7:30am.

The changing landscape after another couple of hours where limestone comes to sight
Do you know our country produces marbles? Those white blocks are raw marble blocks from the limestone quarry in the background. One of the many marble quarries as we approached Simpang Pulai, Perak.
The stop at the Sg Perak R&R (Rest & Relax), well everyone needs to go 'weewee', I find this place one of the best planned and beautifully designed stop along the highway.
By midday,another landscape emerged, flat and one look, it looks like a big lake or pond or even wetland.
Its actually our 'sawah padi' (rice fields). 
Sg Petani, a town in the upper north, this is part of the new township and its time for another stop to fill our tummy before the final stop at Changlung, the border town to Thailand
This is the last stop for what ever we need to do on our soil; filling up forms, get some Thai baths....??!?!!
