My gifts are arriving by mail as a result of my participation for Birthday exchange with a stitching site . Today,
two more package arrived. Total, I have now received 4 packages. Have not open the packages yet, thou, was tempted many times, since its not due yet. Someone told me not to peek, shake it or opening it, coz its gonna worth every minute of waiting till d' date.Waiting for d'date is like Christmas in September....LOL....will try...will try....Margaret.

Saturday......a school day !
The decision to make saturday a school day in lieu of early year end holidays has been made to reflect how caring and considerate are our education system in making it a possibility of an early holiday to coincide with the on coming festival. The decisions made I wonder are on whose considerations ? It had been said that the move are for the sake of the students especially those in boarding school, but it is a moved not welcome by ME !. It may seems convienient and appropriate but have any considerations being taken that students like my kids may have other classes to attend on a saturday ?
And when the saturdays is now a school day for the entire country, has anyone realised how it could effect kids like mine, who has music , tuition and taekwando classes , a co-curriculum activity which is a private affair and not schoold bound on a saturday? Since I have considered the possibility of a school co-curriculum activities on a Saturday morning, I ensured that Saturday morning are free of activities and choose to put these private co-curriculum activities on a Saturday afternoon. And with the commencement of a schoold day on a saturday, my kids who are in the afternoon sessions, will have their private classes that are on a Saturday afternoons be shelved to early evenings .And mind you, these 'private classes' my kids attends have been in for years and not a 'just thing'.
And if you have one kid, there is not much to shout about, but if you have the least two kids with two different locations and the same lesson time to sent in one evenings, not forget to mentioned the traffic jams and the rush hours.
Consider another problem, when other students your kid shared the same lesson are all in the morning session, except yours, who is the only kid in the afternoon, and the teacher wants to maintains the class at the original time at 2pm, everyone except your kid will not be able to make it.....imagine more..not for one week, or the annouced 5 weeks, some schools are having replacement as long as 7 weeks. So, since your kids gonna be absent for 7 weeks from classes, was wondering if I could get a grace period and not pay the center the tuition fee for 1 1/2 months ? or that should the kid just skip these private lesson altogether and return when the saturday schools day is over ?? and expects the center to run a revision for the missed lesson ??? But NO !!! the class will go on as scheduled (minus your kid, if he is absent) since he is the only one who can't make it, and coz, they've got their job, their syallabus to cover to meet the schedule for examinations.
It may seems to some that these classes are of no importance, but there are parents like me who have BURNED our pockets to put our kids into these 'extra' education which to many parents like me may feels that it is a foundation for the child's development and future . Yes, I have spoken to some school teachers who brushed it off as an unimportant activity , so , then activities for the school co-curriculum such as , the uniforms, sports and the educationl trips should also be abolished since it is not of any importance or education related ? What about the 'Rakan Muda' which the government bodies tried to established for our youngsters to instill good moral values ???
I feels that proper evaluation should be made by the said Ministry before jumping to conclusions and making decisions in the name of the said ' kind considerations for the good of all' , better still, before announcing the next school term, do make the apporiate 'decisions and consideration' and not make last minute changes for the benefits of the so called 'all'.
