The escape

this huge structure caught my eyes upon arrival at Denpasar Airport, the land known for its volcanic peaks, bubbling springs, tropical jungle, stunning beaches, golden sunsets and exotic dance . This is my second Indonesia trip after Medan/Lake Toba some years back.

Bali is one of over 13,000 islands in the Indonesian archipelago and is located just over a mile from the eastern tip of the island of Java. People of Bali starts their day with prayers and offering trays of flowers

Balinese people live in constant relation with nature and their faith , a blend of Hindu ~ Buddhism giving them a very unique culture. The beauty and harmony of this faith colors every aspect of life, from fresh flowers strewn in obeisance, their daily cultures and festivals.

These trays of flower offerings are everywhere, on staircase, counter, shop fronts, its part of an offerings and something that I found myself so looking forward to watch the hotel staff goes about delivering/changing the trays every morning observing them from my breakfast table.

One is constantly reminded of where you are with such one of its kind architecture and wood work that seems to lined the road at every turn and every corner.Balinese traditional dances entertaining diners at Jimbaran Bay and below shopping local products of Bali in Kuta, Sanjur, Sukawati III and DenpasarEndless choices of beach wear and Bali Tee, below Spice garden in Temen Village where the main attraction is Bali Coffee, Ginger Tea and Cocoa Drinks Not grapes or mangoesteen but coffee berries. Kopi Luwak or Civet coffee is made from coffee berries which have been eaten by and passed through the digestive tract of the Asian Palm Civet (Paradoxurus hermaphroditus) and other related civet populations. The civets eat the berries, but the beans inside pass through their system undigested. Yeah, yuks! and only takes place in this part of the world
THE FOOD
Breakfast for me consists of coffee everyday with either jam and bread, made to order of either omelet or scramble eggs, sometimes bits of sausages thou they had a spread of fried rice, noodles, beef, chicken, pork including juices and fruits, you'll be able to guessed why I opted for those simple bread and eggs every morning insteadLunch at Segara Seafood on Kuta beachGrilled Seafood dinner by the Indian Ocean at Jimbaran Bay where sunsets on the horizon. Everyone gets a tray each while traditional Balinese dances to entertained . Unfortunately, there was no sunset for us due to gloomy sky on that day. It had rained mid morning and the sky had been sort of cloudy for the entire day. Mixed rice that looked very much like our nasi lemak only the rice is plain rice, minus the spicy sambal and ikan bilis and I just ate without asking what are those side dishes.From Bebek Angsa Cafe on Kuta Road, the not so good platter

And Mary came along, Mary Wigham that is, LOL. I had to put Mary in the transparent bag, just to be sure that no dirt gets on my fabby before shooting.I managed to work a bit on Mary while I was there. Early rise and travelling the whole day just drained me outGetting around on this van that sits eighteen ppl with a very pleasing driver/guide Pak Supi who tries very hard to meet our demands ! our first demand was no monkeys, elephants, tigers as we got plenty of those to see back home, but later I found out the the Elephant Cave is something not to be missed, too late, there was a bit of a miscommunication there, we meant only the living thing ....LOLWell, we are not a very demanding lot, in fact very pleasing and obedient clients except for a few who forgot the occasional time limit especially when one is shopping for things, and poor Pak Supi had to hunt them down, LOL
